Masking Sheeting
Types Of Masking Options for House Painting One of the most crucial steps to achieving a polished and professional-looking finish is using masking sheeting. Masking
Clean the deck: Using a pressure washer or a scrub brush and a cleaning solution to remove dirt, grime, and any other debris from the surface of the deck. If needed, deck stripping will be done during this phase.
Sand the deck: Use a medium-grit sandpaper to lightly sand the surface of the deck. This will help the stain adhere to the wood better.
Rinse down the deck: After sanding, use a cloth or a tack rag to remove any dust or debris that may have accumulated on the deck. We then allow ample time for the deck to dry so the paint/stain will adhere properly.
Rotten wood treatment: We search for any rotten wood on the deck and replace boards as needed and per your request. We also spend the time to tighten the deck up by adding screws and tightening screws where necessary.
Application of the stain or paint: Using a brush, roller, or a pad applicator (depending on the project) we apply the stain to the deck. We are sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions for drying time before walking on the deck or placing furniture on it.
Let the stain dry: Allow the stain to dry completely before walking on the deck or placing furniture on it. This may take several hours or even a full day, depending on the type of stain we are using and the weather conditions.
Apply a second coat: If you want a deeper color or more protection for your deck, you may choose for us to apply a second coat of stain. We follow the same process as the first coat, allowing the second coat to dry completely before using the deck.
Important! Some stains are self-repellant once they have dried. This means a second coat cannot be applied to the stain as it will not properly adhere or cure. We are sure to read manufacturers instructions carefully for every product we choose.
