Prepare the Surface: First, we take the time to prepare the surface by providing a mildew treatment. We then carefully pressure wash the pergola so as to not damage the wood surface. It's important to wash the pergola before painting or staining it.
Wood Replacement and Repair: If there is any rotten wood you would like use to replace, we can do that for you too! We will also take the time to tighten up the wood with more screws or tighten the ones that are there if needed. We want your pergola to last!
Masking: You only want to have paint and stain on the pergola, not you porch furniture or concrete! That is why we take the time to adequately mask everything that we do not want to get paint on. It is easier to properly protect things than try to clean up nasty messes later on.
Dry Time: We allow adequate time for the substrate (pergola wood) to dry before applying any paint. This ensures good adhesion and proper cure. We test our surfaces with a moisture meter to make sure things are done to spec. This is an vital step to the pergola painting and staining process
Application: We apply the paint or stain using an airless sprayer, brush, or roller (or a combination of all three). What we use really depends on the project as well as your preferences, since each estimate is tailor fitted to your needs and wants.
Touch Ups: We spend the time to make sure no spots of have been missed. We never want you to have to point out anything. Rather, we take the time to check and then triple check our work to ensure proper coverage and protection of your pergola.
Clean Ups: We remove any masking and tape. We also take the time to put back any furniture we may have moved out of our way while painting or staining your pergola.
